JERSEY CITY, NJ – On April 28 a New York woman who was intoxicated when she crashed into the median on Route 139 and injured a Port Authority police officer will be detained through her prosecution, according to sources.
The driver, Amandeep Tiwana, 27, was ordered to be held after a detention hearing on Monday morning by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Patrick Arre.
The victim, Port Authority Police Officer Peter Siano III along with three other officers were investigating an accident on Route 139 when Tiwana sped through and collided with the median injuring Siano.
Siano suffered serious injuries along with two other officers that suffered minor injuries. Siano is in stable condition now.
Tiwana is charged with second degree assault by auto and DWI.
