PATERSON, NJ – Sources report a police patrol car struck a civilian vehicle injuring both of them on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened in the vicinity of 176 East 7th Street at approximately 9:05 a.m.
Authorities say one of the city’s patrol cruisers collided with a civilian vehicle. The cruiser then ricocheted into a gate.
The police offer was pinned inside the vehicle until emergency responders successfully extricated him out.
Both the officer and civilian were transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
