HOBOKEN, NJ – A Hoboken man was charged with a DUI and intent of distributing narcotics after crashing into another vehicle on Monday, Hudson Tv reports.
At approximately 1:03 p.m., Officer Cynthia Rivera responded to the area of 2nd and Monroe Street after a report of a car accident. Upon arrival, Rivera found a parked black Chevy with damage on the front end.
The driver, identified as Russell Furino, 26, seemed to be impaired when Rivera spoke to him.
After a standard field of sobriety test, Rivera determined Furino was unable to operate a vehicle safely.
A witness of the accident also spoke to Rivera saying he had seen Furino throw a bag over his neighbor’s fence.
The bag was retrieved and had illegal narcotics, prescription legend drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
It was later discovered that Furino had struck three parked cars.
Furino was taken to the police station headquarters.
