ESSEX COUNTY, NJ – A hit-and-run driver struck and seriously injured a sanitation worker in Newark late on Wednesday night, according to NJ.com.
The victim, an employee of a private company, was working when he was struck by a white Lincoln near the intersection of Godwin Avenue and Hawthorne Avenue shortly before 11:30 p.m.
The victim was transported to University Hospital with critical injuries.
The driver fled the scene. Investigations are ongoing to find the vehicle and driver.
