PISCATAWAY, NJ – A Piscataway High School student is facing multiple charges in the aftermath of a previously-reported train accident last month in Middlesex County.
The collision happened near the intersection of Tyler Place and New Brunswick Avenue on November 19, after the teenage boy drove into the pathway of a freight train, despite the railroad crossing warnings to be in working order.
According to NJ.com, the train and the vehicle collided, resulting in the death of a passenger, another Piscataway High student. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
He is facing charges of vehicular homicide, aggravated manslaughter, aggravated assault, and causing a death while driving without a license.
