CLAYTON, NJ – An 81-year-old woman died after she collided head-on with another vehicle Friday afternoon, according to NJ.com.
The woman was driving a Dodge Caravan north on South Delsea Drive when the car in front of her, a Buick Encore, slowed down to turn left across traffic. The woman swerved to the left to avoid hitting the Buick, driven by a 69-year-old woman.
The Caravan side-swiped the Buick and then continued into oncoming traffic where she hit a BMW X-5 head-on.
The driver of the BMW was a 16-year old girl. Her mother was a passenger.
The mother and daughter were both treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Encore mentioned she was experiencing neck pain as a result of the accident but refused treatment.
The accident is still under investigation.
