WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A head-on collision in Washington Township took the life of a 75-year-old man on Sunday night, according to the Courier Post.
The accident occurred on Delsea Drive near the intersection with Holly Dell Drive, where 31-year-old Thomas A. McAlorum II ran head-on into the vehicle of Clement Mitchell, Jr. at about 8:15 p.m. The initial investigation suggests that McAlorum crossed the center line from the northbound lane and struck Mitchell’s oncoming vehicle.
Mitchell was taken to a local hospital where he died following the crash.
McAlorum was also transported to an area hospital. He has been charged with the death of the elderly man and remains in custody at Cooper University Hospital. He was being treated for the serious injuries that he sustained in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
