JERSEY CITY, NJ – A man died on Friday after crashing his motorcycle into a stone wall on Paterson Plank Road in Jersey City.
NJ.com reports that the accident occurred around 11 p.m. on Paterson Plank Road, near Congress Street.
Illich Ferrara, 43, of Hackensack, crashed his motorcycle after traveling across the southbound lane of traffic and off the roadway. His motorcycle collided then with a stone wall. According to investigators, Ferrara might have lost control of the craft after swerving to avoid crashing into another vehicle.
Ferrara was pronounced dead around 11:30 p.m. at the scene of the collision.
Authorities are searching for a potential witness or witnesses who may have information about the crash. The possible witness may have been driving a maroon or burgundy van.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
