ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ – Route 9W was closed for most of the day in Englewood Cliffs after a driver crashed into a utility pole and downed wires on Sunday morning.
According to Daily Voice, a 20-year-old Cliffside Park man crashed into a utility pole on Route 9W near Charlotte Place in the mid-morning. The pole was broken in two and wires were down across the road.
The driver and 19-year-old passenger refused medical attention and only sustained minor injuries.
An emergency response team, which included personnel from the power company, firefighters, and police officers, were able to clear the scene and reopen the road at about 11 p.m. A fuel spill was also reported.
