OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – A woman was airlifted after losing control of her vehicle and crashing into a Whiting-area residence on Monday morning.
According to Jersey Shore Online, the woman was at a stop sign in her 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe when a possible medical episode caused her to step on the gas pedal. The vehicle served across the road, through some landscaping, and in a house on Bellhaven Court near Schoolhouse Road.
The 73-year-old driver, Patricia Roberts, was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Her front-seat passenger, a 93-year-old woman, was taken to a Toms River hospital for treatment.
No one was in the house when the crash happened.
An investigation is ongoing.
