UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ – A drunk driver from Staten Island, NY, crashed into a police car on I-195 in Upper Freehold Township on Sunday evening.
According to Daily Voice, the police vehicle was parked in the righthand travel lane of eastbound I-195 while an investigation was being conducted on the right shoulder. The right lane was closed at the time and the police cruiser had its emergency lights on. The 36-year-old driver plowed into the unoccupied police car with a Chevrolet Equinox at about 8:40 p.m.
The man, Michael Costantino, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He did not sustain any injuries in the crash and no one else was injured.
