TOMS RIVER, NJ – A driver attempted to flee the scene of a crash on the Garden State Parkway on Tuesday afternoon, according to RLS Media.
A 25-year-old man sideswiped another driver while attempting to exit the Garden State Parkway at Route 37 at about 4 p.m. The man continued down the exit ramp onto Route 37 after the initial impact then hit the curb, a street sign, and a utility pole.
These obstacles did not prevent the driver from fleeing further down Route 37 where he crashed into an overpass.
The driver, Avery Murch, was arrested for DWI and charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and other offenses.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
