OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – A driver was trapped in their vehicle after crashing into a utility pole near a Toms River intersection early on Monday morning.
According to local news, the driver slammed into a utility pole near the corner of New Hampshire Avenue and Church Road at about 2 a.m. When authorities arrived, they found one person trapped inside the crashed vehicle.
After extricating the victim, paramedics transported them to an area hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
The accident downed some power lines causing erratic outages in the area.
An investigation is ongoing.
