Former Governor Richard Codey said that the accident happened right outside his district office on W Mount Pleasant Avenue in Livingston. The long-serving state legislator and another man were able to help the male driver out of the car following the accident. Despite the severity of the crash, Codey said the man “seems to be doing alright.”
A picture on social media showed the car with the utility pole crushing the vehicle, surrounded by down wires.
Details on how or why the accident happened have not been released at this time.
