PATERSON, NJ – Local authorities are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run accident that severely injured a pedestrian on Saturday night.
The incident occurred just before midnight, near Marion Street and Totowa Avenue.
Investigators reported to the area after receiving a call that someone had been shot. When they arrived, they instead found a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.
The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital to receive treatment for a severe head injury.
Authorities are still searching for the driver and vehicle involved in the accident. They have not released a description.
