BETHLEHEM TWP, NJ – A man was injured when the dump truck he was driving overturned on Route 579 Saturday, an accident that closed the road for hours as responders worked to clear the crash site.
NJ.com reports that the incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on June 27, while the dump truck was near Johnston Drive. The driver took a left turn too sharply and overturned the vehicle, spilling the stones it was hauling onto the roadway. Rte 579 was closed between Schaaf and Creveling Roads until two specialized tow trucks could move the dump truck from the roadway.
The driver suffered unspecified injuries in the crash and was taken by hospital to a local hospital. His condition remains unknown.
