NEWARK, NJ – A speeding driver injured seven people when their vehicle crashed into a previous car accident on Route 21 late on Thanksgiving night.
According to Patch.com, officials were working at the scene of a car crash near Route 21 and Riverside Avenue. At about 10:10 p.m., a Honda came speeding onto the scene and crashed into two civilian cars and a police car.
Seven people, one of them an off-duty police officer, were injured. Thankfully, none of the injuries were considered life-threatening, and there were no officers in the police car when the Honda hit it.
The accident is still under investigation.
