RIDGEWOOD, NJ – A driver has been charged with assault by auto after a weekend crash in Ridgewood that injured two people besides herself.
According to Daily Voice, 44-year-old Mille Sauven was speeding in a stolen Lexus on Route 17 when she crashed into a MINI Cooper between Linwood Avenue and Paramus Road at about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Sauven and her 47-year-old passenger, Gustavo Melendez, were both extricated from the vehicle by firefighters. They were taken to separate hospitals for treatment.
The driver of the MINI Cooper, an elderly Ho-Ho-Kus man, suffered minor injuries.
Melendez has been charged with receiving stolen property. Sauven, in addition to the assault charges, is facing charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
