MIDDLESEX, NJ – The driver in a March hit-and-run has pled guilty to charges of leaving the scene, according to NJ.com.
The accident, which killed a utility worker, happened at the corner of Middlesex Avenue and Grove Avenue on March 2 at about 9 a.m. Michael Bergamasco, 51, was in the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Paddy Flynn. Bergamasco, a husband and father of two, died in the hospital four days later.
Police initially asked for help from citizens identifying a white pickup. The driver of that vehicle, who was not involved, helped officials identify Flynn.
Flynn is expected to be sentenced for 3 years in prison.
