BERGEN COUNTY, NJ – A distracted driver wandered into oncoming traffic then struck a utility pole in Hasbrouck Heights on Friday.
According to Daily Voice, a 28-year-old man was headed southbound on Terrace Avenue near Cleveland Avenue in a maroon Jeep SUV. Distracted while on his cellphone, the man allowed his Jeep to drift into the northbound lanes where he clipped an oncoming SUV. The Jeep continued through the northbound lane, onto the sidewalk, and toppled a utility pole in front a barbershop.
An ambulance was called to the scene, however, neither driver sustained serious injuries.
The Jeep driver did receive a summons.
