TEANECK, NJ – Further details have emerged about the man who was killed by a sanitation truck in Teaneck on Monday, according to Daily Voice.
The 70-year-old man was the driver of the truck that killed him. He was in Clarence W. Brett Park preparing to unload his vehicle when it began to roll backward and caught the man underneath.
The man was a contractor hired by the township to assist the Department of Public Works with storm clean up, including from the recent Tropical Storm.
Local authorities expressed that, while the investigation into the accident is just beginning, the incident appears to be an accident and not involve foul play.
The name of the driver has not been released to the public as of yet so authorities can notify the next of kin.
