FORT LEE, NJ – Major clean-up efforts were needed after a vehicle accident on the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee on Tuesday afternoon.
According to 511 New Jersey, the accident happened on the lower level near the toll plaza on the New Jersey side at about 12:30 p.m. At least one of the vehicles involved spilled fuel and cargo in the eastbound lanes.
All lanes were closed while authorities worked at the scene and cleaned up both spills. The closures continued for more than two hours.
At this time, it is unclear whether anyone was injured in the incident.
