TEANECK, NJ – A horrible chain-reaction crash left one dead early Sunday morning, according to Daily Voice.

The accident happened when a Honda Accord ran into the back of a Toyota Sienna. This sent the Toyota minivan across the lawn into the brick wall of a house on North Wilson Avenue, where it burst into flames.

After striking the van, the Accord struck the median and came to rest across the left and center westbound lanes of Route 4. Officers responding to the scene shouted at the 22-year-old driver to stay in the vehicle, but he stepped across the road and was violently struck and killed by a Jeep. The driver said that he was unable to see the man in the dark.

The man died as he was being transported to the hospital, his body dismembered.

The driver and passenger in the van escaped the crash without injury, as did the owner of the house. The homeowner had been asleep on the couch near the wall that the van struck.

The accident remains under investigation.
