NEWARK, NJ – A car crashed into a church in Newark’s South Ward Tuesday evening, according to reports.
The driver of a gray sedan drifted off the roadway and struck the First Faithful Christian Ministries International Church located in the 100 block of Lyons Avenue around 7:40 p.m. Two people were in the vehicle.
The accident caused extensive structural damage to the building.
The two women were able to walk away with non-life threatening injuries.
No one inside the church was injured.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
