FAIR LAWN, NJ – A Bergen County man was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing and driving away in Fair Lawn on Saturday night.
Daily Voice reported that police officers responded to a crash scene at the intersection of 11th Street and Long Road at about 11:30 p.m. The at-fault driver was discovered about five blocks away when his 2005 Honda Accord became disabled.
The driver was identified as 34-year-old Angel Garcia-Gantier of Bogota. He did not pass a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
The man was charged with DWI, reckless driving, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, refusing to submit breath samples, and other offenses.
