FAIRVIEW, NJ (BERGEN COUNTY) – An elderly pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car last night at a Bergen County intersection, according to an article by NJ.com.
The accident happened around 7:25 p.m. near Kamena Street and Bergen Boulevard.
The victim, a 79-year-old woman from Fairview, was taken to the hospital in Teaneck after being struck by a car. She died less than thirty minutes later at the hospital.
The circumstances of the accident have not yet been released, though police said they did not believe there was criminal intent related to the collision.
Authorities closed the roadway for about four hours for cleanup and investigation of the case, which continues at this time.
