HACKENSACK, NJ – A 72-year-old pastor was killed after he was hit by an NJ Transit train in Hackensack yesterday afternoon, according to the Hackensack Daily Voice.
The accident happened near the Hackensack Market on Passaic Street near Railroad Avenue at about 2:45 p.m.
The victim, Rev. Robert Davis Sr., who was a reverend at Cornerstone Baptist Church, was hit by a train bound for Spring Valley.
Emergency crews began resuscitative efforts within a short time after the crash and as Davis was taken to Hackensack University Hospital. There, he died of his injuries.
It is unclear at this time what caused Davis to be struck by the train.
