BERGEN COUNTY, NJ – An 7-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital after being struck by an SUV driven by a family member in Leonia on Monday night.
According to Daily Voice, the family member had let four people out of their Ford Explorer in a parking lot near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Fort Lee Road at about 8:30 p.m. The young girl, in the dark and rain, accidentally stepped in the path of the vehicle and was struck by the front tire.
She was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries to her chest but is expected to make a recovery.
Officers were quickly on the scene and have determined that incident was an accident.
