BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Four people were hospitalized Friday morning following a crash involving a commuter bus and a car in southwest Hackensack, according to Daily Voice.

The accident occurred on South Summit Avenue near West Pleasantview Avenue at about 7:30 a.m.

An early investigation by Hackensack Police indicates an NJ Transit bus was traveling northbound on the road after having just picked up a group of passengers. As the bus approached the intersection, it collided with a Toyota Prius that was also heading northbound.

Authorities said four passengers on the bus were transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. Seven others were said to have declined medical attention.

The driver of the Prius, a 22-year-old Hasbrouck Heights man, was not reported hurt.

Crews were able to clear the scene without any major traffic delays in the area.

It remains unclear at this time which driver was at fault. This blog will be updated to include any new information.
