WEST MILFORD, NJ – A 39-year-old driver was airlifted from a weekend crash scene after colliding with a utility pole on Route 23 in West Milford.
According to Daily Voice, the victim, Brian Kockakji, was northbound in a 2020 Mercedes Benz AMG GLC43 when he crashed into a utility pole at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
He was transported in an ambulance to a nearby ballfield where a helicopter was waiting to take him to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. He sustained serious injuries.
Kochakji, a former resident of the Township of West Milford, is a finance manager at Mercedes Benz and lives in Point Pleasant.
Local police are asking any witnesses to pass information on to the accident investigation unit as they continue to look into the crash.
