24-year-old injured jaywalking at Fort Lee intersection

FORT LEE, NJ – A 24-year-old sustained serious head injuries after ignoring traffic signals while crossing a street in Fort Lee on Monday morning.

According to Daily Voice, the pedestrian was struck by a shuttle on Anderson Avenue near the intersection with Columbia Avenue at about 8:30 a.m. The pedestrian had attempted to make their way across the street outside of the crosswalk and ignoring the traffic signals when they were struck by a Ford shuttle bus.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for serious head injuries.

The driver, a 55-year-old Jersey City resident, remained on the scene.

The accident is still under investigation.
