According to NJ.com, the Brick man was headed south Hooper Avenue while practicing “deep-breathing techniques.” He told police he may have blacked out just before his vehicle crashed into an oncoming car near the intersection with Washington Street at about 4:55 p.m.
The backseat passenger in the second vehicle was unbuckled. They were airlifted from the scene with a serious head injury. The two other occupants were also injured and taken to an area hospital.
The 19-year-old showed no signs of being impaired or of using his cellphone. He has not been charged.
An investigation is ongoing.
