PARAMUS, NJ – An 18-year-old pedestrian who was reportedly walking in the roadway was killed after being hit by a vehicle early this morning on Route 17, according to the Hackensack Daily Voice.
The accident occurred in Paramus, near Midland Avenue and the Garden State Parkway, at about 5:30 a.m. as an 18-year-old was reportedly walking in the roadway.
The victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, was then struck by a vehicle. She was taken to the hospital, where, despite resuscitative efforts, she was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
The driver reportedly stayed at the scene of the crash and has cooperated with the investigation.
