NEWARK, NJ – An 18-wheeler overturned on I-78 near Newark Liberty International Airport early this morning, resulting in significant traffic delays in the area.
NJ.com reports that the incident occurred in the interstate’s eastbound lanes near Exit 57 to Routes 1 & 9 and Route 21 at about 3 a.m. Traffic was diverted to the New Jersey Turnpike by 6:45 a.m.
Delays were also reported on Route 21 between I-78 and Route 21.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the collision. We will endeavor to provide further information about the incident if possible.
