LYNDHURST, NJ – A teenage passenger was seriously injured after a stolen vehicle crashed into a gas station in Lyndhurst Sunday morning, according to the Hackensack Daily Voice.
The accident happened at 555 Riverside Avenue, at the Exxon Gas Station near the Lyndhurst Bridge around 8:30 a.m. following a high-speed police chase that police ended due to safety concerns when speeds hit 100 miles per hour.
An 18-year-old driver crashed the vehicle, allegedly stolen from Elizabeth, into a gas pump pillar.
His passenger, a 17-year-old girl, was taken to the hospital in Hackensack with serious injuries.
The victim and driver have not been publicly identified at this time.
