MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – A 15-year-old pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Interstate 80 in Parsippany early in the morning on Tuesday.
According to NJ.com, the teenage girl was walking alongside the eastbound lanes of I-80 in the dark when a passing motorist struck her near the exit for North Beverwyck Road at about 3:30 a.m.
Authorities pronounced the girl dead at the scene.
The driver fled the scene.
An investigation is ongoing as officials attempt to determine how the victim came to be on Route 80.
