BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Firefighters had to extricate one person from wreckage late Wednesday after a two-vehicle crash on Route 4 in Teaneck, reports Daily Voice.

The accident occurred on the westbound highway at the exit to Tuxedo Square, just before 11:00 p.m. Multiple ambulances, along with police, fire crews, officers with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and authorities with the sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification, all responded to the scene.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash, but a BMW SUV and a Toyota Corolla sedan were involved. Both vehicles came to rest facing the wrong way.

One person had to be removed from one of the vehicles, but no information on the condition of that patient or anyone else has been disclosed.

Westbound traffic was initially allowed to pass by the scene through the right shoulder, but movement was temporarily halted as the wreckage was cleared and an initial investigation was conducted.
