1 dead, 1 injured after wrong-way crash on I-80 in Parsippany

PARSIPPANY, NJ (MORRIS COUNTY) – One person was killed and another was injured in a wrong-way crash with a tractor-trailer on I-80 in Parsippany early this morning, according to information from NJ.com.

The collision happened in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near milepost 46.2 at about 4 a.m., as the driver of a Toyota Rav 4 was headed westbound, against the flow of traffic. There, it collided head-on with an oncoming International tractor-trailer.

The driver of the Toyota, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead after the collision.

The truck driver sustained minor wounds as a result of the accident.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
